OUR NEW POSITION
Day 9

Bible Reading:   2 Corinthians 5:17-21
OUR NEW POSITION

Remember our little word "in"? Here again it has a lot to say to us. We are "in" Christ (v.17). It is the simplest formula with the deepest truth. It is the reason behind our new motives, our new position and our new ministry.

How often do we use the word "in"? We speak of being in love, in the water, in the car, in the house or even in trouble. But as believers in Christ, it means so much more than any of those situations. When we believe in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit puts us "into Christ" in a union so wonderful and eternal that the only way it can be described is that we are "baptized into Christ".

OUR NEW POSITION

God now sees us as being part of Christ, being in union with Him. Previously we belonged to a race that was physically alive, but spiritually dead. When we came to Christ, He so communicated His life to us that we are now spiritually alive. What a wonderful change it is in my life since Jesus came into my heart! We are now new people living in a new world.

The old has gone. The things of the past have dropped out of my life. "The new has come." New things have come into my life - a new pattern for living. There is no part of my life which should not show this new life.

It is like the caterpillar which has become a butterfly. It may live in the same environment, but its desires and habits are entirely different. It can fly. It can reproduce. It can do so much which the caterpillar never thought of doing. "The old has gone. The new has come." The change is obvious to all who see it.

Can the change which Christ has brought into our lives be clearly seen by those around us? Those we live with? It should be.

Ask God again today to help you allow Christ and your new life to be seen in you and through you today.

LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN.
